The Law of Karma: A Perspective to Uplift Each Other

Updated: Nov 23

Law of Karma

We are all familiar with the Law of Karma. In essence, it teaches that we reap what we sow. Interestingly, modern science also aligns with this principle through laws like Newton’s third law: every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In simple terms, what we do to others eventually comes back to us.

As an electrical engineer, I often see parallels between the Law of Karma and the science of energy. The entire process of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution reflects this principle. For instance, as per Ohm’s Law, current has a natural tendency to flow through paths with the least resistance. However, what’s even more fundamental is that current always returns to its source to complete the circuit, regardless of the path it takes.

Similarly, many spiritual traditions suggest that the energy within us—often referred to as atma (soul) or life energy—also seeks to return to its source. Just like current, it naturally prefers the path of least resistance. Uplifting others, spreading joy, and acting with kindness align with this path. These actions flow easily and feel fulfilling because they resonate with our inner nature.

However, we often resist this natural rhythm. Instead of uplifting, we create resistance within ourselves by judging others, forming opinions, or acting in ways that hurt or disconnect. This not only disturbs our inner peace but also delays the return of positive energy to its source.

The Story of Sindhutai Sapkal and Deepak Gaikwad

A real-life example of uplifting others comes from the inspiring story of Sindhutai Sapkal, affectionately known as the “Mother of Orphans.”

Sindhutai, born into poverty and abandoned by her husband, faced unimaginable hardships. Yet, she turned her struggles into a mission to care for orphaned and abandoned children. Among the many lives she touched was a young boy named Deepak Gaikwad, who was found destitute and hopeless.

Sindhutai gave Deepak a home, food, and—most importantly—love and guidance. Under her care, Deepak thrived, gaining confidence and excelling academically. Inspired by Sindhutai’s selfless mission, Deepak chose to give back by joining her in helping other orphaned children. Today, he continues to spread the same compassion and care that he once received.

This story illustrates the profound impact of uplifting others. Sindhutai’s single act of kindness didn’t just transform Deepak’s life—it created a ripple effect of positivity and support that continues to uplift many others.

The Essence

Both scientifically and spiritually, the path of least resistance is the path of uplifting others. When we give happiness, share kindness, and help others rise, we align with the natural flow of energy. Just as current effortlessly completes its circuit, our energy, too, flows harmoniously when we act in ways that nurture and uplift.

Instead of allowing judgments and opinions to create barriers, let’s embrace the least resistance path. Let’s uplift, support, and spread joy wherever we can. In doing so, we not only fulfill our purpose but also create a ripple effect of positivity that eventually flows back to us.

Let’s learn from Sindhutai’s story and embrace the power of uplifting those around us. Even the smallest act of kindness can create ripples of positivity that return to us in unexpected ways.
